  No quality without monitoring

Checks are organized as close as possible to each stage of the manufacturing process. In the metal turning workshops, the setters have checks procedures produced by the quality control department in cooperation with the workshop foremen. They use the workshop’s checks procedures at set intervals.
At the same time, the quality control department organizes its own weekly checks: the second control procedure is carried out within the quality control department by other personnel using different resources (principally a 3D measuring machine). Here we are actually talking about checks plus checks on the checks!
In addition, for components from major production runs and/or those that have to undergo a surface treatment (and which are therefore at greater risk), we carry out a SPC. Any deviations from tolerances are thus anticipated and any preventive action may be taken at the machine.
Finally, each basket of components is accompanied by a job follow-up sheet covering all the operations in the procedure.
The "permit" to move on to the next operation is affixed by name by each professional by means of a stamp with his initials.
So here we have highly-aware professionals, organization, and documentary materials, making the checks procedure an act that is repeated many times during the course of the day.

Metrology: the assurance of reliable control procedures

Almost 2,000 methods of measurement are used during the manufacturing process.

As well as the traditional means (ring gauges, thread plug gauges, plug gauges and plain cylindrical plug gauges, etc.), there are:

    - 1 3D machine equipped with dimension detection using camera and sensors
    - 1 automated profile projector measuring system
    - 1 surface indicator with stylet and datum plane making it possible to measure any surface conditions
(on the chamfer, in the grooves...)

What is more, in order to facilitate checks during the production process, our quality control department produces assemblies and tables for controls including: micrometer, comparator, alesometer, etc.).
All our control equipment is classified and run by computers.

It is monitored by a laboratory with accreditation from COFRAC, the French Committee for Accreditation.

Latest: BOUTTE assists its setters in increasing their number of control procedures: in November 2008, a Jenoptik automated profile measurement system was put into service. The objective is to record and memorize 20 external dimensions in less than 30 seconds.
This new machine is installed in the centre of the workshops. We’re all looking for an easy "SPC".

Traceability of materials: from raw material to the delivered component

Our ERP computer system, 100% integrated (Produflex from Cegid) establishes the link, through bill of materials in the database, between the client’s article reference number entered when the order was taken and the reference number of the material that will be used in its manufacture.
No re-entering of data or manual interference is involved in drawing up the order for materials – in this way we avoid any risk of error. Descriptions of materials are those that correspond to their respective standards.
Materials received are allocated to a production order in advance.
Each bundle of bars is identified and its destination defined before it enters the warehouse, and this is the same receipt number that appears on the production orders given to the setters at their machines.
Finally, this production order number appears on the card box delivered to our clients, and thus allows the connection to be made with the batch and the supplier of the material used in their manufacturer.
This applies for 10 years, the period for which the production data is retained.

  ISO 9001 certification, version 2000

The wording of our certificate no. QUAL/1998/9320b drawn up by AFAQ in accordance with standard ISO 9001 is as follows:
“Turning and finishing components in accordance with clients’ drawings". Designing, Manufacturing, Selling, Trading, and Packaging of connectors for Irrigation, Sanitary Plumbing and Heating, on the catalogue.

So now all our activities and procedures at BOUTTE are covered by our Quality Assurance System.

Our industrial clients therefore benefit from various skills (packaging, assembly, integration of components, logistics, design, etc...) that BOUTTE has gained through experience in these fields, acquired with internationally known major DIY stores. On the other hand, our more specifically industrial know-how (machining, tooling, controls, traceability, materials, etc...) plays a prominent part in the quality of the products in our catalogue.
